Photos from November - December 2024
Contents:New Hobby
These photos showcase my first full roll of film and how I used the camera. Being new to this hobby, I looked and traveled around to find the subject of my next photo.
I hadn't yet built up a knowledge of photography concepts and techniques; I didn't even understand the difference between different ISO film speeds.
I'm pretty much going around taking pictures of anything, just so I can feel and hear the mechanical sounds of the camera working. Few things are as satisfying.
Location: Home; Living Room
About: Compared to the previous roll of film, there's a big difference in color and brightness. Although I don't think this is a great photo, it's simple, which is a good thing.
Location: Home; Front Yard
About: This picture is beautiful, probably one of the best I've taken. What I love most about it are the colors; everything from the leaves, the grass, and Jake matches and goes together well.
Location: Home; Upstairs
About: A plant I was given recently to this photo being taken. The rainy envoirment behind the subject (to me) is very peaceful; a good day to stay in.
Location: Home; Kitchen
About: My Grandmother makes the best Bundt Cake; this one is a coffee cake. She usually makes them around the holiday or for birthdays, and when she does, everyone starts cutting into it reserving peieces for themself.
Location: Kent; Near Kent State University
About: We drove to Kent State University to visit my Brother. While we were stopped at a red light I took this picture of the cafe; definitely a place I'd love to try.
Location: Kent State University; My Brothers Dorm Room
About: While we were at Kent, we stopped by to see the dorm room he and his roommate are staying in. They had stuff everywhere, so much to look at! I found this table/window to be the most decorated part of their room. Each time we visited them, more stuff had been added as decoration.
Location: Kent; Near Kent State University
About: At first I wasn't sure if I should include this photo or not. This was taken from inside our car of the car next to us. Why? Well you can very vaguely see the eyes and head of a dog. The rain on the window doesn't help to make this clear, but that's almost a good thing, as the image has a mysterious feel to it.
Location: Berea; Coe Lake
About: Probably after I finished class one day, I headed out to Coe Lake to take pictures. This area is very pretty this time of year; pictures is the gazebo.
Location: Berea; Coe Lake
About: This is a picture from the gazebo side of the lake, oposite from where I was standing in the previous photo.
Location: Berea; Coe Lake
About: This is the grassy area right outside from where the gazebo is. Pictured are many Canadian Geese, who love to roam around this area in particular.
Location: Berea; Coe Lake
About: Another view of Coe Lake and the surrounding nature.
Location: Berea; Coe Lake
About: A large stone with "CITY OF BEREA 1836" engraved onto it. Berea is known for their sandstone, so finding things like this isn't too hard.
Location: Home; Back Yard
About: While all other trees in our neighborhood had lost their leaves, this acorn tree in our neighbors yard still stands strong and full of leaves. They do eventually fall, but not until there's snow on the ground.
Location: Ohio
About: This is a very neat building, I love this style of architecture. It's a shame I cannot remember where this was taken.
Location: Home; Foyer
About: One of Jakes favorite pass-times is looking outside our front door. Here he gets to see all the people, animals, and cars that go by. I like that the focus is off of Jake and on the houses outside; the blurry Jake looking at you is cute.
Location: Home; Foyer
About: This is one of Jakes favorite places to sit. Like at the front door, he can lay down and look outside, but can also see us when we are in the office (the room in the background). He likes to be near us; always needing to know where we are!
Location: Home; Bedroom
About: When a foreign exchange student came to live with us for half a year, this is the room we gave him; this being my room at the time meant I had to move out into a different room. After he went back home, I never made the move back in, so it's stayed exactly like the way he left it.
