My Beginnings

I really enjoy new experiences; I find that I learn best this way. The world has so much to offer and I just want to experience it all! Especially in the world of cyber security, there's no lack of things to learn.

I've always had a keen interest in technology since I was young. I found my passion for cyber when I learned how to "hack" old video game consoles we had laying around, although I was really just following guides. This sparked questions, I wanted to know how these systems were exploited, how these exploits were discovered, and more broadly, how all this technology manages to work.

When I started at Baldwin Wallace University, I choose Computer Science as my Major; I wanted to learn to write homebrew applications for these "hacked" consoles. I quickly learned that this was not my calling, so I jumped ship to the world of Cyber Security. I found that this change answered all the questions I have been asking. Classes like networking taught me how computers talk with one another, penetration testing taught me how computers are exploited, and system administration taught me how we keep computers safe from attackers.

This transition into Cyber Security was good for my school involvement as well, as I was now being pulled into the Cyber Security Competition Team. This was by far the most rewarding experience I've had at BW; I made great connections, traveled to other states, and learned a whole lot in the process. My favorite competition was CCDC as it was the most intense and demanding, but it's also the competition that helped me grow the most in my understanding of cyber security.

As for why I minored in English, well, I've always had a passion for writing. This had enabled me to improve my writings, learn new types and styles of writing that I've grown very fond of, and become very analytical as a reader.

Me, Personally

This website aims to connect three of my greatest areas of interest: Technology, Writing, and Photography.

Outside of anything work or school related I enjoy spending my time doing these things. Messing around with computers and breaking things is fun, especially trying to figure out ways to fix them again.

I'm also part of the Tech Team at my Church, where I do audio work for service. This has been great for learning a new area of IT, while also making meaningful connections that helped my growth in faith.

Secondly, I keep a lot of journals that are constantly being written in. From recording daily activities to writing about all the things happening in life. I enjoy writing in many different styles; from travel to observational writing, technical and documentational, and personal or letter writing. Exploring and jumping between these styles is fun!

Lastly, photography is something that is more recent of an interest, but something I'm putting a lot of time and effort into. I won't say anymore, you can look toward the photo galleries for more about this hobby.

I, ummm, also like... long walks on the beach, and err... watching the... 'clouds' on a nice... ummm, 'picnic'. Yup. Something like that.
